John A. "Chip" McDonald graduated from
West Virginia University with a degree in agronomy.
Chip had been involved in golf course construction
since the age of 11, and then was a golf course
superintendent for over 20 years before founding
McDonald & Sons, Inc. in 1984. Chip oversees all
activity of the McDonald Design Group and actively
participates in every step of the design process.

Joel P. Weiman graduated
from Cornell University in 1997 with a degree
in landscape architecture. While at Cornell he
focused his studies on golf course design. Joel
had spent time both maintaining and constructing
golf courses before joining McDonald & Sons in
1998. Since 1998, Joel has worked on over 30 design
projects including five new golf course designs.

Andrew H. Green graduated
in honors from Virginia Polytechnic and State
University in 2001 with a Bachelor's of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor's of Science in Crops,
Soil and Environment Science.
Andrew had been involved in golf course maintenance
of both warm and cool season grasses since 1994.
He joined the McDonald Design Group in 2001 performing
all design duties.

Wade E. “Buck” Young graduated from Ohio State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture. Buck has been involved in landscape construction, golf course maintenance, community planning, and golf course construction since 2001. He joined the McDonald Design Group in 2006, performing technical computer support, plan rendering, and GPS surveying duties.
